Misty Borland Phiffer is an experienced personal injury and wrongful death litigation attorney. She focused the past 18 years on fighting for the rights of hurt people and their families. Born and raised in Midland Texas, Misty chose to return to Midland following her graduation from Baylor Law School in 1994 to help with and continue to grow the family firm of Borland & Borland. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1495000851566{padding-top: 5px !important;}”]She immediately began work as a personal injury attorney specializing in large personal injury and death cases, including those arising from trucking accidents, car wrecks, industrial accidents such as gas and pipeline explosions and oil field injuries.

Misty operates the personal injury and litigation side of the firm of Borland & Borland, Attorneys at Law, P.C., with her father, Mike Borland.

After graduation from Midland High, Misty attended Texas Tech University with a focus on political science. She then attended Baylor University Law School, following in both her parents’ footsteps, and received her Juris Doctor degree in 1994. While attending law school Misty was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity and won a position in the Order of The Barristers through her skill in Moot Court. She was also winner of the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Competition in the fall of 1993. She is a member of Mensa.

Misty is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the New Mexico Bar Association, the Midland County Bar Association, the Permian Basin Trial Lawyers Association and is past President of The Midland County Young Lawyers Association. She is a sustaining member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. She has served on the Texas Trial Lawyers Association Advocates Diversity Committee which was formed to encourage diversity in the membership. She served on the Texas Grievance Committee for District 16b from 2007-2011, a committee which is charged with the responsibility of investigating charges of wrongdoing against other attorneys. She served as Chair for this committee from 2008-2009. She is also a member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.

Misty continues to live in Midland, Texas with her husband Devin Phiffer and their three children, Ashley, Jake and Bailey. They are active members of the community. Misty is especially active in the Parent Teacher Association and her children’s many after school interests like soccer and dance.
